Kyla, a proud Māori from Ōtautahi, has been immersed in sports since childhood, representing herself at provincial and national levels. Kyla is involved in touch, rugby, rugby league and basketball. Sports play a significant role in Kyla’s life, as she cherishes the opportunity to cultivate relationships with new people through her involvement. She believes all tamariki deserve equal opportunity to be involved in sports. Kyla is currently pursuing a Bachelor if Social Work with Honors at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha with her aim being to assist troubled individuals, particularly within the Māori community. Her primary focus lies in youth work, where she aims to provide support and guidance to those from underprivileged backgrounds, empowering them to succeed.

Kyla finds joy in blending her two passions of sports and assisting young tamariki to excel, helping them surpass goals they never imagined possible.

Logan was born and raised in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, where he spent most of his free time on a sports field - unfortunately, he never learned to skate. Sport had a massive influence on his life, giving him a sense of belonging, creating close bonds with mates and teaching many other valuable lessons along the way. These experiences, his studies and coaching has led Logan to understand the positive impact which sports can have in supporting individuals and creating a sense of community. He is driven by the belief that all tamariki should have the opportunity to participate in a safe, inclusive and engaging sports environment.

Logan began working at Tamai at the start of 2023, after moving from Canada where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science from the University of Victoria (Canada). Before Tamai, Logan worked in South Africa with a similar program for a short period of time. He also has coached rugby at various levels and ages over the last 6 years.
